Things we are thankful for and Specific prayer requests

God is good and I want to start off this entry by giving you things to thank Him for.
~Max's life
~Max is resting well and looks content
~There is no swelling on the brain right now
~John and Kelly are felt very peaceful last night (It was so wonderful for them to stay in the hotel. The parent sleep room had only one twin bed. They slept comfortably last night)
~The doctor feels optimistic
~There is a possibility that he could be fine
~The doctors and nurses have been taking great care of Max and have been so gracious in communicating with Kelly and John and our family
~There has been NO seizure activity in over 24 hours
~That the last 3 blood sugar checks have been 71, 69, and 74 (they feel that his unstable blood sugar in his first 2 days of life was due to the stress that he was under so this indicates that his body is resting and is not stressed, PRAISE GOD!!!)

After talking with the nurse last night Kelly and John have some specific prayer requests that they are asking you to bring before our Father. If you are able, please print them and keep them with you...
~That the bleeding on the left side of Max's brain will decrease from a grade 3 and that the bleeding on the right side of the brain will decrease from a grade 4
~That there will continue to be no swelling in the brain
~That there will be no seizure activity
~That the ultrasound of his brain that they do on the 28th will look as good or better than his baseline ultrasound
~That his blood sugar stays above 60 and never drops below 40. (if below 40 he has to stay on the higher concentration of iv fluid
~That he will be able to start eating and be off of the IV
~That he will be able to nurse well, Kelly has been able to pump and her milk came in last night
~That his jaundice will get better (they had to put a lamp on him last night)
~That he will not loose anymore weight. He has lost 4 oz and is down to 6lbs. This is great for a newborn but we need him to have his strength
~For continued strength and wisdom for all of the doctors, nurses, and therapist that are blessed to know Max and take care of him
~That Kelly and John will continue to have strength and peace and be able to make the best decisions for Max. (Let me interject here - it has been so precious to watch Kelly and John together. They are getting so much strength from each other. It is so precious to see the love and support that they are giving to their beautiful son and to each other. Please pray that in their stress they will continue to depend on God and on each other as they have to this point)
~That Max will continue to be peaceful and comfortable
~That there is no brain damage

Kelly and John asked me to let you know that they are so very grateful to each of you for all of your thoughts, prayers, comments, and concern for them and for Max. They can feel God working and last night felt peace that could only come from Him. Thank you for forwarding this site to all you know that can pray for all of us and for putting us on every prayer list.

Please keep praying,
karie

Kelly and John,
I second what Bridget said about just wanting to give you both a big hug. That would probably speak louder than anything I had to say right now. Jarrod and I prayed for you and baby Max last night and you all have been on my mind ever since yesterday. I had to check the blog first thing this morning to find out the latest on Max. When I read the entries, especially from your journal, I had tears in my eyes. God is amazing and He will guide you through this. Jeremiah 29:11 is my favorite verse- "He has a plan for you..." I can already see God working as I read the many comments people have left on the blog site. So many friends and family are lifting you up in prayer. We too will continue to pray. With Love,
Jarrod and Lia Watson

You are continually on my heart right now and we will keep lifting your family up to God, especially baby Max. Praise God for your rest last night. Keep sending out these lists, please, so we can be specific in our prayers. We love you,

My Dearest Kelly,

When Donna called me yesterday and told me about Max, my heart hurt so terribly bad for you, John and your wonderful family. Barbara I love you so much. I know how powerful the prayers of many righteous people are and I know that God will answer according to His will. There are so many wonderful souls praying and I pray that the peace that passes all understanding will comfort you and John and that little Max will be calm too. Keep lookin' up to the Father. He has prepared you for this time in your life and you are both strong. I love you and my prayers will be constant.

Love,
Lorie

Kelly-

I sent an "everyone" e-mail to Howard Publishing. The president and vice president of Howard responded back by saying that you were in all of their prayers. You have so many people all over the country praying for your family. I am checking the blog every few minutes to see the updates on Max. You are in my constant prayers. I love you.

This is Becky Harris. We didn't even make it home before Jondalyn was calling to tell us that there are several class members who want to help with the hotel. Please allow us to do this. This way you can stay close to Max and when you are able to sleep have a comfortable room. I know that soon, if not already, thousands are praying for the Julian & Stewart families. You two are loved by so many and so many are praying without ceasing for Max.

You have a wonderful support system in our class at church...USE US!! Remember no prayer request is too big for our God! Max has been such a fighter already and with God on his side and yours ANYTHING is possible!
May God bless and comfort you all!

Kelly and John,
I wanted to let you know that my family is praying for you and Max. I am a good friend of Bridget's and she sent me the website. From the moment she told me to pray, you have been on my heart and mind. Everytime I think of you tears come to my eyes and I am overwhelmed with emotion. I know the Lord has Max in His hands. He formed every part of him and He knows exactly what to do to mend him. He is the Great Physician. What a comfort to know He is in control. Your love for the Lord and trust in Him is evident even through this blog. I know the Lord will bless you for trusting Him. I will continue to go the Father on your behalf.
God Bless,
Shelley Faulkner

Kelly -
Max is in my constant thoughts and prayers. Being a new mom myself I know how overwhelming everthing is, but I can't even imagine what you are expierencing.
I loved the pictures of Max - he is beautiful! I can't wait until we are both visiting Maple Hill at the same time and I get to meet him in person. It is great that Karie can keep everyone posted - Max is blessed with a wonderful family!

Kelly and John,
From the moment that I heard about little Max, I knew that he was destined to take part in some very special kingdom work for God. Look at how many people are already praying on his behalf, and we don't even know him! My entire homeroom class at Friendship Christian School in Lebanon, TN is praying for this darling little boy, and we are praying that God will be glorified through what happens next. Our prayer is that God will sustain you both during tough days and nights and that He will hold you under the protection of His wing. We are praying for an end to the bleeding, an absence of swelling, and an abundance of Christian caregivers who can love and nurture Max through the days ahead. Some of God's best work has been accomplished through the lives of children; God is working through Max right now to give you a testimony. Continue to trust Him, and know that He is pouring out extra measures of His love on you and your family right now. Hallelujah! What a Savior we serve!

Still Chasing His Dust,
Susie Stephens

Dear, dear Kelly,
When we got the first e-mail about Barbara's grandchild, I immediately sent her a message congratulating her and asking who the mother was. I wasn't sure if it was you or Karie. Since I heard the news of Max's condition yesterday, I have been praying constantly for you and your family and little Max. (I had a dear uncle named Max.) I was so glad to see the pictures that were posted. You look so pretty and your baby is adorable. I pray that God keeps all of you strong and peaceful and that he gives baby Max the strength to come through this ordeal completely whole. I love you. Patricia Bush
(Mrs. Bush from Friendship in case you don't recognize my first name.) Stay strong.

John, Kelly and Max,

Shauri just sent me this blog, it was the first news that we knew of your brand new family. Max is gorgeous and we know that he is a very strong boy and will overcome this. In reading through all of the updates we are so encouraged. So I know that you must be encouraged as well. God is so good and you will ALL be blessed! We are praying for you and know that the Lord will provide more than anything you could have ever imagined for your little Max.

All of our love,

Ken, Barbara, Kelly and family-

I can only imagine what you are going through. As a parent I know how scary it can be when your child just has a high fever. I am confident though that you will not only make it through this challenge, you will come out stronger on the other side. I have passed this information on to my family in Alabama and the churches there. Take comfort in the fact that there are prayers being lifted to the heavens for you from all over this country. I will pray for your request as well for God to demonstrate His awesome power and proclaim His presence by healing Max completely and in a way that all those around will know that He is God. Be strong and faithful.

In Christian Love-
Pam (Tidwell) Randolph

I followed a link from Amber's blog. I don't know your family, but I am so glad you are keeping this blog. You will definitely be in my daily thoughts and prayers. My niece was born 2 months prematurely last week. She only weighs 2 lbs, 12 oz, so I know how hard it can be watching and waiting on news. God is so good and through the power of prayer, miracles can happen everyday. May God grant your family peace and understanding in these difficult times and may he heal little Max and comfort that sweet baby.

Kelly and John--

Max is beautiful!!! Britney called last night and you have been in my thoughts and prayers constantly. Our church here in Montgomery is the most faithfully praying church we have ever been a part of. I am passing your blog on to our prayer warrior team. Our youth minister and his wife have a 6 month old who was in the NICU for several weeks after being a full term baby. They couldn't figure out what was wrong and didn't know if she was going to make it. She is now our very healthy, active little miracle baby. God is powerful and awesome. He will take care of Max and the doctors and nurses. I pray you have the peace that passes understanding. Know that our church is praying for you, Max and your entire family.

Love ya,
Shea Lea Copeland Roberson
